Summer Exams

First Year Summer Exams will begin on Tuesday 1st of May. Students received their timetable last week.

Second and Fifth Year Summer Exams will begin on Wednesday the 9th of May. Both of these timetables can be found here;

All students should be currently following their revision plans in order to study for these exams.

Geography Rocks

The Geography Rocks group got perfect weather for their trip to the Burren last weekend. The group had an amazing time in beautiful County Clare where they visited the Ailwee Caves, went caving, visited the Burren and spent some time at the Cliffs of Moher. Further pics to follow next week.

Plastics in the Ocean”

2 Lagan have been redesigning a garden with the theme “Plastics in the Ocean”. 6 members of the class presented their idea to a panel of judges at the Young Environmentalist Awards Semi Final last week in the European Commisions Building. They gave an excellent presentation and did the school proud. Well done to all involved.

 

History Quiz

Congratulations to the recent winners of the first and second year History Quiz which took place during lunchtime. Two teams came joint first and team members are pictured below. Well done to all.

Athletics

Our Athletics team have delivered some superb individual and team performances in recent weeks.

Chris Duffy became West Leinster Champion in the Senior 400m.
Simon Murphy became West Leinster Champion in the Intermediate 400m.
Aimee Kenna  became West Leinster Champion in the Intermediate 800m.
We also had a number of Silver medalists, Joseph F. Murphy 100m, Alex Hill 800m, Emma Hutchinson 200m, Simon Murphy 800m and the
Senior girls 4x300m Relay Team.
The other three relay teams on the day won bronze medals.
These results follow the superb team displays at the Leinster Medley Relay Competition.
The Senior Girls Team of Eve Keegan, Niamh Gannon, Jennie Kinsella and Emma Hutchison won Silver in their event and the Intermediate boys team of Kevin Lahiff, Aran Murray, Simon Murphy and Ciarán Hogan won bronze. The Senior Boys Team of Alex Hill, Chris Duffy, Joseph Finnegan Murphy, Alan Connolly and Sean Wynne (injured) won Gold and became Champions for the 4th year in a row.
This is remarkable set of results and is a credit to the hard work and dedication of the students involved. Well done to all.

Gaelic Football

The First Year Boys Gaelic Team play their first competitive game on Friday the 27th at 11am at home to Rush C.C. This is a knockout game and all support is welcome.

The Under 16 Boys Final will take place on Thursday the 3rd of May against Col Choilm from Swords. Time and Venue is to be confirmed.
