On arrival, families will receive a short school briefing from our Principal, Ms Frances Gibson, followed by an opportunity to explore what makes St. Mac Dara’s CC unique:

 

Curriculum

At St. Mac Dara’s CC, we provide a diverse and well-rounded curriculum that nurtures the key skills needed for learning in the 21st century.

  • Junior Cycle: An extended Taster Programme, giving students a full academic year to explore a wide range of subjects including Engineering, Woodwork, Technical Graphics, Music, Art, Business Studies, and Home Economics, before making their subject choices. This approach allows students to base their decisions on genuine interest and ability, leading to a more balanced mix across subjects.

  • Senior Cycle: Transition Year and Leaving Certificate programmes that lay strong foundations for further study and future career paths.

  • Support for All Learners: Our dedicated AEN team ensures that every learner is supported and included.

Through an engaging and dynamic curriculum, we aim to prepare all students to thrive as lifelong learners.

 

Extra-Curricular Life
