St. Mac Dara’s Community College Musical Society are delighted to announce their forthcoming production of Back to the 80’s.

From the era that brought the world the Rubik’s Cube and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the 80’s is a “totally awesome” musical. In the style of movies such as Back to the Future and The Karate Kid, this production will bring you on a nostalgic journey through the greatest hits of the decade.

Back to the 80’s tells the story of the senior class of William Ocean High School, as remembered through the eyes of now thirty-something Corey Palmer. Seventeen-year-old Corey is madly in love with his next-door neighbour, Tiffany Houston, one of the coolest girls in the school, but she is too busy mooning over Michael Feldman, the best looking guy around. Michael and his friends are athletic and good looking – the kind of guys that Corey and his two best friends dream of being. However, while they may not be the coolest guys in school, they are still one up on Feargal McFerrin, III, whose best friend is his computer and who believes the crazy notion that one day, CDs will replace cassette tapes.

Rehearsals are in full swing with the help of Ms. Butler, Ms. Halligan, Mr. Kingston and our fantastic choreographer Aoife Carney, Got2Dance!

This production will be one to remember as it will once again showcase the immense musical talent that we have here in St. Mac Daras.

The show takes place 13th – 15th December 2017 @7.30pm.
