Gaelic Football (GAA)

Training and matches for all Gaelic Football teams has now commenced for the season 2016/17.  As ever huge numbers are participating with over 150 students currently playing for one of the college’s seven teams (U18, U16, U14 and First Year Boys & Senior, U16 and U14 Girls). Training for all Boys teams generally takes place on a Monday after school with Girls training taking place on a Tuesday after school, however training days may change due to staff meetings or matches. The picture above is a sample of one of the many well attended training sessions that takes place.

St Mac Dara’s has a rich tradition of Gaelic Football success winning many Dublin and Leinster Colleges Titles, however the emphasis in training and matches is always on participation and fun. New players especially beginners are always welcome and any boys or girls who wish to start playing should see Mr Burke, Mr O’Connor, Mr O’Brien or Miss Brennnan.
